Description
If you’re looking to experience the iconic Northern Territory Mud Crab scene without committing to a full day, our half-day (4-hour) mud crabbing charters are the perfect choice. With a maximum of 8 huests onboard the productive waters of Darwin Harbour, this trip is all about soaking pots, exploring mangrove-lined creeks, and chasing those great-eating Territory Mud Crabs.
Using our fast vessels, we’ll efficiently reach prime crabbing grounds where we set and check pots based on tides, recent catches, and local knowledge. Our team carefully plans each trip around the best conditions to give you the highest chance of success. Charters operate in both morning and afternoon sessions, depending on the tides. Just let us know your preference when booking.
While we always put in the effort to find quality crabs, results can vary as conditions change day to day. That said, there’s nothing quite like the anticipation of pulling a pot and seeing what’s inside. Your guide will walk you through the process, from setting pots to handling and measuring crabs, making it a hands on and enjoyable experience for all skill levels. We’ll also have snacks and cold drinks onboard to keep you comfortable throughout the trip.
To top it all off, you can take your fresh catch to a local restaurant we partner with where it can be professionally prepared for you, an ideal way to finish the day with a true “catch to plate” experience.
